Sometimes life throws you a curveball right when money is tightest. A relationship breaks down, you lose your job unfairly, or someone takes you to court. The last thing you need is to worry about whether you can afford a lawyer.
That's where legal aid comes in. Legal aid is government-funded legal help for people who can't afford a lawyer on their own. And at CWG Law, we're approved legal aid providers, which means we can represent you at no upfront cost if you qualify (you may need to repay some or all of the costs if you are able to).
How does it work? It's simpler than you think.
You come and see us, we talk through your situation, and we help you complete a legal aid application. If you're approved, legal aid covers our fees.
No big invoice. No nasty surprises.
Do I qualify? Legal aid is based on your income, assets, and the type of matter you're dealing with. As a rough guide, if you're on a benefit or a low income, there's a good chance you'll qualify. But don't rule yourself out before you've talked to us. The thresholds are more generous than most people expect, especially if you have dependants.
